The Garifuna Legacy Project:

The LEGACY Project will bring together youths and elderly, two generations with a mountain of differences, and inspire a new way of closing the generational gap. Participants will meet bi-weekly to identify what matters most to them. Participants will embark on healthy-living projects that includes community forums/workshops, creating a cultural recipe book and a community garden. As a way to connect on a personal level, elders will be encouraged to share stories and family photographs of being Garifuna in Central America and their migration experience to America while youths will be encouraged to share photos of their childhood and stories of being Garifuna in American and their upbringing.
